Alycia St. Germain (She / Her)

Infant Teacher

Hi, my name is Alycia and I am excited to be a part of Saint Paul’s Childhood Center team! Growing up in a family of childcare providers, I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a part of this field. After graduating in 2021 from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Developmental Psychology and a minor in Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature, I became an infant teacher in a newly established nonprofit childcare center in St. Paul. While there I was able to work with a group of dedicated teachers who were instrumental in my hands-on learning. Through them I discovered Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE), a caregiving practice which emphasizes respect, empathy, and relationships throughout a child’s life.

I have always enjoyed working with infants and am constantly amazed by the skills they develop and the personality they display at such an early age. Always taking in the world around them as they grow physically, cognitively, and emotionally, they help remind me to slow down and take it all in as well.

In my spare time I enjoy a good book (or 10), going to concerts, spending time in nature, and exploring restaurants, museums, and other activities around the Twin Cities with my friends and family.
