Heather Nuber

Infant Teacher

I am an interdisciplinary artist/instructor, recently relocated to the Twin Cities. After working with kids and families for 14yrs as the Youth and Education Director for a small church, I decided to go back to school to pursue my art degrees. I received my BFA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, and MFA from Indiana University, followed by a 3-year teaching stint at the Indianapolis Art Center. My work focuses on the dynamics of personal relationships and social interactions through the exploration of form and material.

As for home life, I have an amazing, supportive partner in Addison, and a snuggle bug ginger tabby girl named Tucker.  I love nature which never ceases to amaze me, craft and all of its wonderful materials, cooking big meals for folx I love, binging a whole series shows or books like I have nothing better to do, and singing my heart out especially to melancholic singer songwriters.

I love working with young ones because of their wonderful openness to exploration and play, which is vital to discovery. I believe children have an amazing capability to express and experience through art-making practices. As a teacher, I prioritize creating a safe, collaborative, joyful and warm environment for students, families, and fellow faculty and staff.
